About Lizz

Lizz started riding ponies at 2 years old and being a member of the Pony Club she competed in showjumping and dressage on her Welsh pony called Charlie. A few years later her family moved to Spain to set up a riding school and riding holiday business. During this time Lizz taught many children to ride and also backed and schooled youngsters. Her own horse was a Lusitano called Majestuoso or ‘Magic’ for short.

Graduating in 2013 in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Cordoba, Lizz moved back to the UK and completed a 12-month Internship in Equine Orthopaedics at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket. During that year Lizz published a research paper and was asked to present her work at the British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) Congress in 2014. After finishing her internship Lizz went travelling for a few months before starting work as an Equine Ambulatory Clinician at the University of Cambridge.

During the 5 years that Lizz worked at Cambridge Vet School not only did she teach all aspects of equine veterinary medicine to veterinary students, she also visited and treated hundreds of horses and ponies and soon discovered her passion for equine dentistry. Wanting to focus purely on dentistry Lizz made the leap from general practice and set up her own dentistry business in 2020, aiming to provide high quality affordable dental care for all horses and ponies.

Lizz has received many hours of additional dentistry training from world leading dental specialists and has attended many dentistry courses, CPDs, conferences and lectures including: Advanced Theoretical Equine Dental Technicians Course, Modern Equine Dentistry, Advanced Dentistry for the General Practitioner, Introduction to Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry. It is also mandatory for all registered and practising veterinary surgeons in the UK to complete a minimum of 35 hours each year of CPD and additional training to maintain their professional knowledge and skills so you can be assured your horse is receiving quality care and treatment.

In her spare time Lizz enjoys riding and competing her Thoroughbred x Cob mare ‘Maia’, walking her little dog ‘Bonnie’, helping out with the family-owned marquee business and travelling – when able to!
